“Apocalyptic” dog? We have one! That’s because Koda, a Siberian Husky, decided to make “Grandma’s” day by grabbing the dustpan and making her run around the yard in an attempt to retrieve it.

Between runs, Maria calls him a “little rascal” — maybe he’s the real boss of the house! Haha.

The dog, who lives in São Paulo, Brazil, belongs to dancer Tatiane Ferreira. She didn’t miss the opportunity to record the mischief and shared the video on her TikTok profile on September 19 with the caption: “Who else has an apocalyptic dog like this?”

Recording the scene from the second floor of the house, Tatiane captures the moment when Koda, a one-year-old dog, put the little shovel in his mouth and started running, trying to get Maria to chase him.

Dodging left and right, the pup slips right past Maria — who, exasperated, pleads, “Give it to Grandma!”

Even so, he shows no sympathy and insists on playing tag. Oh, those pets!

Grandma’s genius solution? She banged the broom on the floor to startle the husky into dropping the dustpan.

It worked like a charm — only then was she able to get it back and finish her chores.

Koda

In an interview with Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news), Tatiane said that the dog has always been like this — a rascal.

“Our pup is always getting into things — he’s stolen food, dish towels, remote controls, plant pots, and more,” she said. “He loves playing hide-and-seek and tag,” she added.

Well, that explains it — Koda isn’t a terror; he just loves to play. What dog doesn’t? Some dogs more than others — but with Koda, it’s definitely turned up a notch, haha.

Mischievous or not, one thing’s for sure: this Siberian husky is deeply loved by his family! “He’s the love of our lives. He entertains us with his playfulness, showers us with affection, and has truly turned our lives upside down,” his owner said fondly.

The Video

The post has racked up over 5.1 million views. “I’m a bit overwhelmed by how far a simple joke went,” Tatiane admitted. “I’m still trying to process everything.”

In addition to the massive number of views, the video received over 628,000 reactions and thousands of hilarious comments.

“The dog: I’m a rebel because the world made me this way,” one user commented.
“Tag’s yours, Grandma,” joked another.
“How cute — he’s helping Grandma with her cardio,” joked a third.

Why Do Dogs Love Playing Tag or Hide-and-Seek?

According to Wag!, dogs enjoy playing tag and other games for several reasons.

First, it’s a form of physical and mental exercise, which is essential for their health. Additionally, playing tag mimics natural hunting and chasing behaviors, which are instinctual for dogs.

This activity also strengthens the social bond between the dog and its owner, creating a closer and healthier connection.

Many dogs simply love the thrill of chasing and being chased. It’s a great way to release pent-up energy while experiencing joy and satisfaction through play.
