Have you ever seen a dog throw a dramatic fit? No? Then get ready to meet Pandora, a two-year-old pug who caused a hilarious scene when taken out of the pool. You won’t believe it, but the dog literally screamed at her owner for taking her out.

Living in São Paulo, Brazil, with her owner Greice, the dog showed just how temperamental and dramatic she can be — vocalizing her outrage like a true Siberian Husky when her relaxation time was cut short.

Finding the dog’s reaction funny, Greice recorded the moment and shared it on her TikTok profile, where it racked up over 1.3 million views.

The Pool

Greice and her husband wanted to install a pool in their backyard, but due to high costs, they opted for a large plastic pool instead of a traditional masonry or fiberglass one.

They probably never imagined that Pandora would fall in love with the pool, especially since, according to Greice in her interview with Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news), the dog hates baths.

The pool was installed at the beginning of the month, but it rained during the first few days, so the family couldn’t use it. However, when the sun came out, Greice, her husband, and their daughter enjoyed the coolness of the water.

Pandora also joined the fun, but she didn’t enjoy it one bit when she was taken out.

The Video

Pandora is the kind of dog who doesn’t like water but hates being alone even more. Faced with the choice of watching her family have fun or joining them, she decided to overcome her fear of water to be with the people she loves.

“She’s very clingy and doesn’t like feeling left out, you know?” Greice explained. “So when she saw me, my husband, and my daughter in the pool and realized she wasn’t there because I had taken her out, she started yelling.”

Well, it seems her fear of water is gone, because she clearly didn’t like being taken out of the pool and knew exactly how to show it!

In addition to going viral, the post has garnered over 220,000 likes and thousands of funny comments.

“She’s cursing your entire generation,” one user commented, laughing.
“She’s like, ‘Woman, I’m a fish! Put me back in the water, for the love of God,’” joked another.
“Translation: This is absurd, Mom! It’s hot and I want to be in the water,” joked a third.

Do Pugs Like Water?

Most Pugs aren’t particularly fond of water. In fact, many will avoid swimming or even getting their paws wet whenever possible. However, like with any breed, there are always exceptions.

Some Pugs might enjoy playing in the water or swimming, while others have no interest at all. Water tolerance varies from dog to dog, and early socialization and positive experiences can influence a Pug’s willingness to interact with it.

However, it’s important to be cautious when exposing a Pug to water, as their compact build and short snouts can make swimming difficult. Always supervise your Pug near water to ensure their safety.
