Man Shows What It's Like to Be a Single Pet Dad

Rodrigo Neves, a young man living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, shared online what his experience as a "single dad" to a pet is like. In an interview with Amo Meu Pet (out Brazilian website about pet news), Rodrigo tells us more about his routine with his adorable seven-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, Angel.
It all started when Rodrigo shared a “skincare” moment with his Yorkie on his TikTok profile.
With the caption “Life as a single pet parent. Giving a bath to my daughter,” Rodrigo showed off his talent for taking care of his beloved dog.
Right after, he removes the bow, saying it didn’t look that great — but I assure you, it absolutely did! His gesture was truly adorable, and the hairstyle turned out super cute.
More of the Routine
Rodrigo also said that Angel has been living with him for six months and is fully adapted to her new routine.
She loves baths, especially when the hairdryer is involved, and he never misses a chance to comb her fur. But that’s not all.
“She is my pet daughter. She lives like a person, sleeps in the same bed as me, goes to the beach with me, rides in the car with me, and loves going for walks. If she sees me getting ready to leave, she starts crying and wanting to be held so I can carry her,” Rodrigo shared.
In addition to being extremely loving, loyal and obedient, Angel has a special personality that enchants her human dad.
“She is very obedient, respects me, likes to wear clothes, and loves sleeping next to me. She enjoys riding in the car, sitting by the window feeling the breeze, and she sleeps more than I do. I go to work, and she sleeps on her back,” he says proudly.
The Adoption
Rodrigo rescued Angel from a difficult and very sad situation! Her former family was about to abandon her after seven years of living together.
“I took her in because someone wanted to abandon her after seven years. They were willing to give her to the first person who would accept her. I took her, and now she is my daughter,” he said.

So adorable, I was very touched by Rodrigo’s attitude in rescuing Angel and the way he takes care of her. She certainly found her happy ending!
