Caramel-colored Dog Accidentally Mates with a Chow Chow — and Owner Reveals How Their Adorable Puppy Turned Out!
By Gabriele Tancredo Stella in DogsHave you ever wondered what a Chow Chow and a caramel-colored mutt mix would look like? Internet user Aneuma Mônica Almeida, a resident of Paraíba, Brazil, introduced this cutie on social media.
In an interview with Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news) Aneuma shared a bit about Charlotte Kyra’s adoption, her personality, and how important she is in her life.
The dog is now five years old and was adopted when she was just two months old. She is a caramel-colored mutt, and her father is a Chow Chow. The breeding happened accidentally.
One of Aneuma’s friends, who owns Charlotte’s father and supports animal welfare, had rescued a caramel-colored stray dog from the streets.
This female dog started living with the Chow Chow, and soon after, Aneuma’s friend realized she was pregnant.

The stray gave birth to four identical puppies, three of whom were adopted out, leaving only one: Charlotte. When Aneuma saw her, she fell in love and decided to adopt her.
Since then, Charlotte has been her loyal companion, especially now that Aneuma is facing a difficult battle with cancer. "Charlotte has helped me a lot throughout my treatment," she declared.

Regarding the dog's personality, the owner said, "She is quite reactive until she gets used to a stranger. She loves the people at home but needs some time with strangers."As for the company of other pets, Aneuma said, "She likes cats."

What Is a Reactive Dog?
According to the Wag! News portal, a reactive dog is a term used to describe a dog that reacts in an exaggerated and often aggressive manner in specific situations, such as when encountering other dogs, people, objects, or stimuli that make it feel uncomfortable, fearful, or anxious.
These reactions may include excessive barking, growling, attempted attacks, or defensive behaviors such as hiding or quickly backing away.
It is important to note that reactivity is not necessarily a sign of inherent aggression in a dog, but rather a response to situations that make the dog feel uncomfortable.
About the Chow Chow's Personality
One of the reasons Charlotte may be reactive could be due to her Chow Chow side. According to the Pets blog, the breed is known for being reserved and wary of strangers, which can cause them to show reactivity in certain situations.
Although a Chow Chow may have some reactive tendencies due to its wary nature, this isn’t an absolute rule, and a dog’s behavior can be shaped through socialization and proper training.
Each dog is unique, and a Chow Chow’s behavior can vary from one individual to another.
