The sweet moment was shared on Olivia’s social media with the caption: “Only Olivia can handle this…” Spoiler alert: If you watch the video, your heart might just melt.
Olivia’s Adoption
In an interview with Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news), biologist Alice Alves, who lives in Minas Gerais, Brazil, shared that she has been working with wild animals for 16 years.
In one of her projects, she provided enrichment services for a woman who owned several wild animals.
“This woman got Olivia from a breeder, but unfortunately, just a few weeks after Olivia’s arrival, she passed away. She had no husband or children; her whole life had been dedicated to animals, and they were distributed among her friends and employees,” she explained. “I was already caring for Olivia at the time, so I kept her, along with some dogs and cats as well.”
Trix’s Adoption
Recently, after leaving work, Alice heard loud meows coming from a dumpster. When she checked, she found a poor little kitten abandoned; she was only a few days old.
Without hesitation, the biologist rescued her and took her home. During her rehabilitation, Olivia has been essential, as she loves staying close, caring for, and protecting the little kitten.
“Olivia has always loved babies. We have Zic, who was also rescued as a newborn. She became very attached to him, and now that he's 8 months old, they’re still best friends.”
The Video’s Success
Olivia spends her days checking on Trix in her bed and, of course, showering her with affection. Luckily for us, Alice recorded one of these moments — didn’t she? The heartwarming scene between the two has garnered over 1.4 million views.
“That’s why I love animals — just look at this love,” commented one viewer.
“God bless the animals! They are the purest creatures in the world. I love them soooo much,” added another.
“Olivia is a protective mother!” exclaimed a third viewer.

Alice concludes the interview by saying, “We have many animals here — over 30 in total. They’re all special, but Olivia, being a primate with behavior more similar to humans, requires much more attention and care. We love her — and all of them — like our own children.”
