Golden Retriever Discovers Foolproof Method for Tickling — and No One Can Resist It
By Gabriele Tancredo Stella in DogsZee is a Golden Retriever who, among all the tricks he could have learned, mastered one that especially amuses his family. No, his trick isn’t fetching—it’s tickling, specifically under the armpit.
Living in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, this handsome boy, almost eight years old, was adopted by young Louise Cella when he was six. Ever since he learned how to make his humans laugh with his tickles, he hasn’t given the family a moment of peace.
No matter where or what a family member is doing, Zee uses his snout to poke under their arms, making them laugh. Now, even internet users are laughing after Louise made a compilation of these moments and shared it on her TikTok.
“He learned to tickle by accident. My brother was playing on his phone when Zee wanted attention. When he tried to poke my brother’s arm, he ended up touching his belly and noticed that my brother jumped and laughed. So he started doing it to other people too. When someone puts their arm in front of their body to protect themselves, Zee moves it away with his head,” Louise told Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news).
Zee is a very gentle dog and loves being around people. He also adapts well to apartment living and loves going on walks. Like most Golden Retrievers, he also loves water and enjoys bathing in the river. Oh, he also enjoys playing on the sand at the beach.
“He’s a very sweet and smart dog; he brings joy wherever he goes,” she said.
“He means everything to me.”
Louise adopted the Goldie after her childhood dog passed away. Shaken by the loss, she almost fell into depression.
During that time, she even managed to find him a new family, but since she had grown too attached to him, she couldn’t give him away.
“I got attached to him very quickly, and I felt he was meant to be mine. He’s my life companion — he goes everywhere with me, and I can’t imagine life without him.”
The Video’s Repercussion
The video of Zee’s cleverness has garnered over 440,000 views. Louise didn’t expect the video to go viral and was surprised by the number of views and comments. “He’s truly a source of joy, both for those close to him and even for strangers,” she said.
“He realized people love it and now does it to EVERYONE.” one user wrote.
“Does he bite? No, he tickles.” another joked.
“There will be laughter in this house, that’s for sure!” commented a third.
