Meet Nicole, a Pitbull Knockoff Who Prefers the Couch Over Guard Duty
By Gabriele Tancredo Stella in DogsJoining the “Knockoff Dogs” trend, Nicole’s owner—a mixed-breed pup—made a video joking that she’d bought a knockoff version from Temu. That’s because when she was a puppy, she looked a lot like a Pitbull. But as she grew up, those features gradually disappeared. Any resemblance now is purely coincidental. That’s why she’s jokingly called a “Temu dog.”
Curious, we at Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news) went looking for more details—and the one who answered wasn’t her owner, but the “dog herself,” who lives in Santa Catarina, Brazil.

Well, just to clarify—Nicole was not purchased on Temu, according to the “dog’s” own report:
“Actually, the video was a joke by my human—because my cousin Sheila (who shows up in the video as an extra) and I look like Pitbulls, but we’re just street dogs. My human posted it and a lot of people believed it—they thought we were actually bought, lol. But we were adopted—because no one could afford our adoption fee. You know—we’re very valuable and rare,” she joked.
This little mutt was adopted as an adult—at one year old—by Otavio. He wanted a guard dog to watch over the yard, since he had just moved into a new house. But oh, the innocence—I always laugh when I remember—because Nicole is no guard dog at all. In fact, she loves the beach.
“My mom came into my life later—along with my cat (yes, I have a pet cat),” she explained.“So I pretend to be a security guard and all, but these days I live in an apartment, I’m totally spoiled, and I only eat while lying on the couch or in my bed—because I’m way too lazy to eat standing up.”

This beauty is deeply loved by her humans. She says: “My humans always tell me I’m everything to them, that they have a canine Buddha at home, and that they can’t live without me.” She concludes: “I think that’s only fair—after all, I’m incredibly wonderful and extremely humble.”

Speaking of “Knockoff Pets”…
Nina is a puppy who was adopted under the impression she was a Yorkshire Terrier. But just over four months in, she surprisingly revealed herself to be a beautiful little mutt.
Her owner, Priscila Martinez, who lives in São Paulo, Brazil, said: “We love Nina, no matter what her breed is.”
