Dad Trains Belgian Shepherd to “Supervise” Daughter’s Date—Here’s What Happened

In an interview with Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news), the daughter shared that her dad is super protective—and how she deals with all the suPUPvision.
Glock, a Belgian Shepherd, is her dad’s favorite when it comes to interfering with his older human sister’s relationship. Ever since Rayssa Machado started dating, the dog has taken on the role of “third wheel” at all costs.
On TikTok, the family’s Belgian Malinois from São Leopoldo, Brazil, amused viewers in a clip where she followed her dad’s command to the letter.
From a distance, the dad records Rayssa and her boyfriend Abner, asking Glock to “watch that relationship”—and she happily jumps right between them.
Despite the hilarious scene, Rayssa assures that her dad, Josué, isn’t actually the overprotective type—he knows how to take a joke, just like in the viral video.
“My dad is super chill and likes Abner a lot! He has a normal level of dad protection, but he knows how to turn it into a joke,” she says.
When it comes to Glock’s relationship with Abner, Rayssa believes there’s definitely some jealousy—but it’s between the Belgian Shepherd and the boyfriend, not between the sisters.
“Glock has been in love with Abner since the very beginning of our relationship. I always joke that she wants to steal my boyfriend because she’s so affectionate with him. She’s super affectionate—she loves listening to him play the guitar while lying at his feet!”
According to her owner, the Belgian Shepherd always finds a way to get between the two.
“She always gets in the way when she can. She lies down between us, licks us—she’s such a character. Abner and I live in different cities, and whenever he comes over, she and Lutero (our mutt) throw a party!” she explains.
Regarding the video, Rayssa said her dad didn’t even need to ask the dog twice to “supervise.”
Home Security
Rayssa describes Glock as the guardian of the house and the whole family—including her pet siblings: the mutt Lutero and the cat Zola.
“Glock is our security guard at home. She comes inside, climbs on the couch and the bed, but always sleeps in the garage to keep us safe. She’s a beast with anyone outside the gate, but she’s very loving with anyone we let in,” she says.
Glock is the family’s first Belgian Shepherd, and Rayssa says everyone has fallen in love with the breed’s loyalty and devotion.
“I believe she’s like this because of the way my mom, Eliane Nunes, always cared for and raised her—with lots of affection and love,” concludes Rayssa.
