Meet Pingo and Nina, the Dog “Siblings” Who Live with Their Faces Glued Together
By Gabriele Tancredo Stella in DogsMany people have seen a video of Pingo and Nina. These two internet-famous canine siblings have touched everyone with their love for each other. They love keeping their faces close and giving each other kisses. It’s pure love! In an interview with Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news), their owner shared how the two came into her life and what it’s like to live with these sweethearts.
Pingo is the older of the two and, at just four years old, he was the first pet in the house. This little guy quickly softened Acácia Luziêr’s heart. At the time, Acácia’s husband saw a post about a little Dachshund up for adoption, but she was hesitant to bring him home.
“He tried to convince me for a whole week. I didn’t think it was the right time to adopt a puppy because of our busy routine and lack of time. But I couldn’t resist Pingo’s charm, and we brought him home!” she recalled.
Then came Perninha, a kitten also rescued by her husband! Her husband clearly has a soft heart, doesn’t he? Sadly, after a year filled with love and companionship, the family discovered he had medullary lymphoma—and shortly after, he passed away.
Gift from Heaven
Still mourning, Acácia came across Nina in the most unexpected and touching way. This little Chihuahua mix already had a name, a family, and what seemed like a set destiny—or almost.
“I was at the vet clinic when her previous owner brought Nina in for a vaccine. After she left, she called me and said, ‘I don’t know why, but I feel like I need to give her to you. There’s a connection, and she’ll do you a lot of good. Will you accept her as a gift?’” she recalled.
At just two months old—still named Sophia—Nina stared at Acácia with a mischievous little face. Acácia couldn’t resist her sweet smile and soft caramel-colored fur.

“I was speechless. The woman didn’t know about our loss, but of course, I accepted her offer right away. From that day on, Nina brought color back into our lives and helped us through that difficult time,” she said.
Love at First Sight
“They got along from day one—their friendship is truly special and hard to explain. Nina is super affectionate and loves giving kisses, while Pingo has always loved companionship—so it was the perfect match!”

For Acácia, living with the two of them is not only a gift, but also a daily learning experience.
“I’m simply grateful for the chance to have them in my life. IHonestly, I can’t even imagine my life without them anymore. They teach me to be a better person every single day,” she concluded.
