Pomeranian Picks a Fight with Delivery Guy — and Gets Hilariously Scolded

A feisty Pomeranian got a major scolding from his owner after losing it on a food delivery guy. Why? Why? The pup thought he’d have to share his snacks and wasn’t having it—so he growled and bared his teeth. In an interview with Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news), Antonio Jorge Machado Teixeira shared details of the hilarious scene, which has already racked up over 7 million views.

Zé, as the dog is called, is a star on Guarujá Island, in São Paulo, Brazil—where he has lived with his owner for two years. Known as the Little Island Lion, this sweetheart loves riding on Antonio’s motorcycle, wearing different outfits, and taking photos with the local community and tourists. A true star!

However, one day, Zé lost his temper. While the owner was talking to the delivery guy, the Pomeranian acted on instinct: he growled, bared his teeth, and threatened to “nibble” the delivery guy’s hand—all to defend the food.

“He’s super polite and well-behaved. His problem is when he smells food. When Zé smells food, he loses control, doing things that aren’t usual for him,” explained Antonio.

Even with his owner by his side, Zé didn’t accept the delivery guy’s pets.He wasn’t interested in socializing at all. He wanted to protect the food.

“He already thought the food bag was his. He had claimed it. So when the guy tried to pet him, Zé bared his teeth. When I saw it, I called Zé over for a conversation,” he explained.

While scolding Zé, Antonio hadn’t realized that the delivery guy found the whole situation hilarious and had recorded the entire moment. The poor Pomeranian stood on his hind legs, begging his owner to stop the lecture in front of strangers—hahaha!

“It all happened so spontaneously. I scolded him, saying, ‘You’re gonna go around biting delivery guys and still get your food, while I end up with nothing!’ Later, he posted the video and it totally blew up,” he explained.

A Gift from the Universe

Antonio sees Zé’s arrival in his life as a gift from the universe.

“My son-in-law brought Zé as a gift for my daughter, and she brought him to my house to meet me. When I looked at Zé in her lap, my heart almost fell out of my chest,” he recalled.

Without thinking twice, Antonio told his daughter that Zé was going to destroy her apartment, bite the couch, pee and poop, among other mischiefs, and suggested that she leave him with Antonio for training.

“When I took him in my arms, I said to him, ‘Zé, you’re never leaving my side again.’ It was love at first sight, and they never dared to ask for him back. Everyone knows that Zé came to me as a gift from the universe. We haven’t been apart since,” he said.

Supporting His Owner

At five years old, the Pomeranian has been through some tough times with his owner and was considered essential support. “I fell into a deep depression, and he was the only one left in my life. That’s why I have this infinite love for him,” Antonio confesses.

For him, all the love Zé has received is the result of his dedication to his owner and the affection he gives to everyone he meets.

“All the love Zé gave me in the hard times, he’s now receiving from the people, and it’s well deserved. He is a very loving and special dog,” he concluded.
