Rottweiler Offers His Ball to Baby Every Time He Hears Her Cry — Super Cute Video
By Gabriele Tancredo Stella in Dogs
Many believed that it wouldn't be wise for Marcela Angélica de Oliveira to keep Scar and Simba — a Rottweiler and a Siberian Husky — in her family, as she was pregnant and expecting a baby, Luiza.
However, instead of listening to these doubts, Marcela, who lives with her beautiful family in Goiás, Brazil, decided not to part with her little dogs (after all, no one gets rid of a family member, right?). Scar revealed himself to be an attentive and loving brother, dispelling the fear that other people had.
“During the pregnancy, we faced prejudice from some people who thought it was impossible to have a Rottweiler near a baby, but that didn’t shake us. She was born, and from the first day, he understood that she was ‘fragile,’” Marcela told Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news).
This bond started when Luiza was still in her mother’s womb. Scar, being a protector, stayed by his owner's side, making sure that nothing bad happened to either of them.
Then, the big day arrived, and the little girl was finally born — much to the delight of the dog.
“There is a video of Scar lying on my belly while I was pregnant, admiring the baby moving,” she recalled.
In a video compilation shared on the @scar.simba TikTok account, with over 700,000 followers, it is clear how protective Scar is of his little sister. Well… you just want to squish this cutie because the video is so adorable!
In the video, the dog is seen in different situations: sitting next to Luiza, holding the ball in his mouth, or carrying the toy wherever Luiza is.
His intention was to offer his most precious possession to the newest member of the family. But since Luiza was so young, she didn’t understand the gesture.
Well, time went by, and at 1 year old, Luiza interacts much more with her canine brother. Every time Scar brings her the ball, the little one throws it for him to fetch.
Of course, she’s not strong enough to throw it far, but just the fact that she plays it already makes Scar extremely happy.
The perfect solution for a crying baby
When Luiza is crying, Scar has a solution. Guess what? He offers her his little ball. Since the toy makes him happy, he believes it will cheer up the little girl.
“Luiza cries, and he feels desperate. He puts the ball on her, as if saying, ‘You can play, it’s the only thing I own, and I’m giving it to you to make you happy,’” she said.

The (ultra-)adorable video
Scar is 4 years old and has a lot of energy and cuteness. Completely in love with her pet, Marcela declares, “He is really amazing. I feel blessed to have such a sensitive dog.”
The post has garnered over 611,000 views, 107,000 reactions, and thousands of comments.
“Girl, did you cry making this video? Because I cried watching it. Wow, I remember him trying to bring his ball to her,” wrote one follower.
“Luiza, you grew up… this moment is ours,” cheered another.
“So beautiful! They’ll be great friends,” declared a third.

Are Rottweilers good with kids?
According to Not a Bully, Rottweilers can be good with kids, but it is important to remember that a dog’s temperament is influenced by many factors, including proper socialization, training, and responsible adoption. That goes for any kind of dog!
Rottweilers are known for being loyal, protective, and affectionate with their families. When properly raised and trained, they can be excellent companions for kids. However, it is essential to always supervise interactions between a dog and a child, regardless of the breed.
It is important to highlight that each dog is unique and can have its own personality and temperament. In addition, it is essential to provide a safe environment, encourage proper socialization, and offer consistent training for both the dog and the child.
