Owner Talks to Dog Through Mic After Finding Out What He Did at Home

Influencer Helena Sbeghen and her fiancé, who live in São Paulo, Brazil, are the proud owners of Cookie, a Border Collie. This handsome guy loves to nap when his owners are away.

But his favorite place to sleep — believe it or not — is the kitchen counter. Unbelievable, right?

So how did Helena find out, if she’s not home during his naps? Through a camera she had installed in the living room.

On the footage, she caught her two-year-old dog’s mischief. Before, when she got home and found fur everywhere, she didn’t know why — but now she does. Haha!

In a video shared on her TikTok profile (@helenasbeghen), Helena said she and her fiancé had gone to the supermarket.

In the parking lot, they decided to check on the dog — and when they opened the camera app, surprise! Cookie was lying on the counter.

Helena joked that buying him an expensive bed didn’t help, since his favorite place to sleep is completely inappropriate. The couple, shocked by the scene, burst out laughing. Meanwhile, Cookie was snoring loudly — clearly in dreamland. Haha!

So how did Helena and her fiancé interrupt their dog’s nap? Through the camera, they told him to get down and go to his bed.

Upon hearing his owner’s voice, the poor little guy jumped down in fright and started searching for the source of the sound. Poor thing! I doubt Cookie will be napping there again anytime soon.

In an interview with Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news), Helena explained that the camera was installed specifically for Cookie, so they could keep an eye on him when they’re out — since he can be quite the troublemaker, lol.

“When my fiancé first got him, they lived in a house. When we had to move to an apartment, we were afraid he wouldn’t adapt. As a puppy, he was a lot of work — we couldn’t keep any decorations in the house because he’d grab everything, even though he went to daycare and took frequent walks,” she explained.

Cookie doesn’t just love jumping on the counter! “No matter the height, he always managed to climb onto the sink or stove… Sometimes we’d come home to find the faucet running because he had climbed up to rummage through the dishes and bumped it with his nose. Haha! But that doesn’t happen anymore,” she said.

Whether he’s restless or not, one thing’s for sure — he’s deeply loved by his owners!

“He means the world to me and my fiancé! We’re even planning to get a tattoo of him soon, haha,” she concluded.

Some viewers wondered if he sleeps there to cool off, since Border Collies have dense fur.

However, Helena assured them that wasn’t the case — it’s just Cookie being apocalyptic, since the countertop is made of the same material as the floor.
