Man Takes Out the Trash and Gets in Trouble with a Shih Tzu [Video]
“The dog: ‘I didn’t give you that kind of freedom, bro.’”

While taking out the trash, Seanne Rodrigues’s father stopped to chat with a neighbor. During the brief pause, he saw a small dog nearby.
Thinking the dog was his — since the gate had been left open — he picked him up. But the Shih Tzu didn’t like being picked up. Why? Because the dog actually belonged to the neighbor — not him. Haha!
Seanne and her father, Ernander, live in Pará, Brazil. On trash collection days, he puts the trash outside.
However, something embarrassing happened. When he saw the dog, he could have sworn it was Meg — his own dog — but it wasn’t. Ernander only avoided getting bitten because the other dog was polite. Haha!
The family has six adopted pets — three dogs and three cats — with Meg being the only Shih Tzu.
They are all deeply loved, and to prevent them from getting out and risking danger in the street, the whole family keeps a close eye on them.
“When my dad went to take out the trash, he was talking to a neighbor. Then he saw a small dog that looked like Meg coming toward him. He thought Meg had slipped out while he was distracted by the conversation. He went to pick up the dog — but realized it was Luck, the other neighbor’s dog,” Seanne told Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news).
Ernander only realized the dog wasn’t his because of its weight. Looks like Meg has a lookalike out there!
“Luck didn’t like being mistaken and made my dad run away — haha! We laughed so much afterward,” she explained.
Meg is very affectionate! That’s probably another reason Ernander realized the dog on the street wasn’t hers — Luck showed no affection at all, lol.
According to Seanne, Meg only gets unfriendly when someone touches her things — like her food or toys. But that’s understandable, right?
“Meg is the youngest — she used to belong to my brother. He gave her to me, and now we take great care of her,” she said.

The family loves their pets deeply, and Seanne shared:
“They’re like part of our family. My father has always loved animals, and I think that’s why we learned to take such good care of them. Meg is very special to us — just like all our pets. Each one has their own story and unique personality.”
The moment Ernander picked up the wrong dog was caught on the home’s security camera — and Seanne didn’t waste any time sharing the hilarious clip on her TikTok profile (@seannerodrigues) with the caption: “The dog: ‘I didn’t give you that kind of freedom, bro.’”
