Internet User Introduces Dalmatian and Pug Mix Puppy — Video
This hybrid breed is known as the Pugmatian.
By Gabriele Tancredo Stella in DogsEver wondered what a Dalmatian and Pug mix would look like? I hadn’t — until now. That was until Danilla Baltazar, an internet user from Rio de Janeiro, introduced this adorable little one on social media — and people were instantly charmed. This hybrid breed, known as the Pugmatian, can grow up to 15 inches tall and weigh around 25 pounds when fully grown. They are sociable and friendly, inheriting characteristics from both their parents.
In a video posted on her TikTok profile ( @danillabaltazar) on July 6, Danilla explains that the puppy’s parents were good friends — and from their friendship, seven adorable pups were born.
In an interview with Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news), Danilla shared that she owns a pet salon and that the owner of Matilda, the Dalmatian, and Bob, the Pug, was a regular customer who became a close friend.
The playful duo was a handful, so the woman decided to give Bob to Danilla — which made her incredibly happy!
“They had lived together for years, and just a few weeks later, Matilda had a big belly — she was almost ready to give birth.”
Danilla was in disbelief when she heard the news and even asked her friend if the dog had run away. But the one responsible for the “mischief” was Bob, the Pug. Danilla said her friend hadn’t spayed Matilda because she never imagined the Pug would be able to mate.
But to everyone’s surprise, it happened — and now they had a litter of puppies to care for.
“Then they were born and I said, ‘Wow, they really are his,’” she said.
In the caption, she asks, “What should we call this breed?” Well, now we know, right? Still, many users insisted it’s just a mutt. What do you think?
In the video, we first see the mother — a Dalmatian. According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), the Dalmatian is a breed known for its distinctive black or brown spots on white fur. They have athletic builds and an elegant posture, and are known for being lively and energetic.
They are loyal and companionable dogs, forming strong bonds with their families. Their intelligence and ease of training allow them to learn commands and tricks, although they can be stubborn. Dalmatians also make great companions for children, as long as they are socialized from a young age.
After introducing the mother, let’s move on to the father — a Pug. According to the AKC, Pugs make ideal companions because they’re affectionate, loving, and thrive in human company. Despite their compact size, they have outgoing and energetic personalities.

An interesting fact about Pugs is that they’re considered one of the oldest dog breeds in the world, with a history dating back over 2,000 years. Their popularity has only grown over the years, making them beloved by dog lovers everywhere.
Now that the parents have been properly introduced, it’s time to meet the puppy: the Pugmatian. According to the pet news site Wag!, as is common with hybrid breeds, the Pugmatian’s appearance and temperament can vary — since they can inherit traits from either parent.

Some common traits of the Pugmatian include medium size, a short, dense coat, and spots similar to a Dalmatian’s.
When it comes to temperament, they’re generally sociable, friendly, and affectionate dogs who love being around their people. Like the Pug, they can have a moderate energy level and adapt well to family environments.
Curious to see this little guy? It looks like he got his dad’s snout — but to honor his mom, he was born with spotted paws, just like a Dalmatian’s. Haha!
