Owner Turns Camera On to See What Her Cat Does When She's Home Alone

Giulia Bonatto, who lives in Paraná, Brazil, decided to record her cat, Banks, to see what she does when home alone.According to Giulia, in an interview with Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news), Banks came into her life unexpectedly. She named her after a character she loves — Nivoka Banks, from the book Hideaway.
“I had just moved into an apartment when my friend posted some photos of kittens on her stories, and I said, ‘Give me one.’ She replied, ‘Okay.’ We both took the joke seriously — and next thing I knew, I was at her place seeing which kitten liked me most,” Giulia recalled. “Banks stayed on my back the whole time — she never left. That’s when I knew she was the one.”

Until she was weaned and learned to use the litter box, Giulia and her friend called the kitten “Megamind”, as she had the biggest head in the litter.
Then the big day arrived — it was time for the kitten to go to her new home. But do you think she went alone? Nope — she brought her little brother, Kai, with her.
Giulia says Banks is very calm and attached to people she knows — maybe that’s why she gets dramatic when left alone, lol. However, she doesn’t like contact with strangers, preferring to keep her distance.
Banks and Kai make a very communicative duo, according to Giulia: “Banks talks to herself all day long, while her brother yells to the beyond. It’s chaos!”
For those who thought Banks’ meowing meant mistreatment, Giulia hid a camera in the room and stepped out, leaving the cat alone for a short time. And wow... this kitten really knows how to meow — she didn’t stop for a single minute!
Later, Giulia captioned the video in a hilarious way, imagining what was going through Banks’ mind with each meow, and shared it on her TikTok profile ( @gbnttx ) on June 3. Of course, the post went viral, garnering over 789,000 views.
While Banks is the dramatic one, Kai is a very sociable kitty who loves greeting visitors at the front gate. And that just gives Banks another reason to complain.
“She feels really weird when she’s without both of us at the same time, so she starts yelling to call us.”
Giulia says she never imagined having cats, as she has always been passionate about dogs, especially strays. She’s also allergic. But once, she spent the night at a friend’s house who had 20 cats — and woke up hugging one of them. That’s when she fell in love with cats.
“I’m very connected to spirituality, and I prayed to the universe for affectionate, calm, loving, and communicative cats. And that’s exactly what I got. I’m extremely attached to them — and they are to me, lol. It makes all the difference. Since I live alone, I never feel lonely — and I have so much fun with their antics. They are everything to me, I take them everywhere with me, to family lunches, afternoon coffee with my grandparents, pet saloons, the building’s laundry… They love going on walks with me — they’re my companions,” she concluded.
