Suelen Bartholomeu is a lucky woman, because besides having a cute and cuddly dog, she also has a nanny! How so? Malu, her Shih Tzu, took the opportunity while her owner was in the bathroom to take care of the baby in the stroller.

The family lives in Santa Catarina, Brazil, and since Betina was born, Malu has proven to be a companionable dog, always by her owner’s side and by the baby’s side. The dog never misses the chance to be by her little human’s side, even if it means getting into her stroller.

“Malu was the baby of the house, and when I got pregnant, she became even closer to me. She has a strong temperament and thinks she owns everything,” Suelen told Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news).

The episode of the Shih Tzu alongside Betina was filmed and shared on Suelen’s TikTok profile (@suh.bartho) on April 27, accumulating over 3.7 million views.

In the video, Suelen enters the room with her cell phone in hand to film the dog inside the stroller at Betina’s feet. The woman says that she was only away for two minutes to go to the bathroom and, upon returning, she came across the cute moment.

“On the day of the video, I left the stroller next to the couch. Malu was sleeping on it. I went to the bathroom quickly and, when I came back, she had climbed in,” she recalled. “After that, Malu always wants to sleep with her in the stroller.”

Malu, all cute with a pink headdress, is seen sitting next to her little sister, who is also all dressed in pink, wrapped up in a blanket. It makes you want to hug them both!

“When I had the baby, she acted strange and didn’t want to get too close. Little by little, she adapted and today she is super protective. She doesn’t let anyone, other than us in the house, get close to her. She always wants to be close and, whenever I go out to do something, she stays next to the baby, protecting her.”

Well, in all this cuteness, I only have one question: was the dog there to be close to Betina or because she liked the stroller and adopted it as her bed? I’ll go with both options! Hahaha.

That’s because, in another video, Malu is seen having fun with her owner. She is inside the stroller while the man drives the vehicle around the room. Just look at the fun!

And in a third video, the cutie was caught by Suelen sleeping in the stroller, with her paws up, all sprawled out. Now, look at how relaxed she is!

In addition to the millions of views, Malu and Betina’s video received over 540,000 reactions and thousands of comments full of affection and grace.

“Karen, you left your puppy here! I’m going to keep an eye on her so she doesn’t leave,” someone commented, imagining what was probably going on in the dog’s head.
“I think it’s so sweet when people include their pets in their childcare routine,” commented another.
“Hey Karen, more responsibility for me? I want my treat as payment,” joked a third.

It’s beautiful to see, isn’t it? Suelen ends the interview by saying:

“Malu is my rainbow pet. She arrived at the time I needed her the most. I had lost my mother to cancer, and a few months later, I lost my dog to cancer as well. I suffered a lot, but when Malu arrived, she brought joy back to the house. She represents hope for me, she is my daughter, my little love.”

Now watch the videos below of Malu playing and sleeping in the stroller.

This Malu is very cute and smart!

Are Shih Tzus good with children?

Everything indicates yes, since Malu has shown herself to be a great sister, right?

According to Pet Keen, Shih Tzus generally have an affectionate and gentle nature, which makes them a breed that is generally good with children. However, it is important to remember that a dog’s temperament can vary from individual to individual, regardless of breed. Some Shih Tzus may be more tolerant and patient with children, while others may be more reserved.

It is essential to always supervise interactions between children and dogs, set boundaries, avoid disturbing them while they eat or rest, and not pull their ears or tails. In addition, it is essential to properly socialize and train the Shih Tzu from a young age so that they are accustomed to and well-behaved in different situations with children.
