Dog Sitter Says He Has the Best Job in the World—And His Videos Prove It

Handling friendly dogs daily and still getting paid for it seems like a dream for many people.But for Deivid Lorente, also known as “Uncle Deivid,” it’s reality.
Being a pet sitter is one of Deivid’s regular jobs in Paraná, Brazil.
Besides watching over pups, he is also a trainer and pet taxi driver.
Pet Taxi
On some days, when he’s working as the “bus driver,” his morning routine starts at 7 a.m.
He goes from house to house picking up his adorable passengers. The destination is a dog daycare.
Although he doesn’t get a spoken “good morning,” he receives the warmest welcome, full of licks and tail wags.
Sometimes, Uncle Deivid even has to pick up the laziest ones at their door, but the excitement is guaranteed.
With lots of licks, the passengers show their excitement for another day of fun and learning.
The arrival at the daycare is a lively spectacle, with the pups running in full joy, ready to enjoy their day with their fellow dog classmates.

Pet Sitter
In a special experience, Deivid shared how he had the opportunity to watch over Clara, a Labrador, during her owner’s wedding.
He said that the first step, as a dog sitter, is to bond with the dog.
This involves lots of affection and playtime.
Can you imagine getting paid to play with a dog?
Well, once again, Deivid shared his point of view—that he has the best job in the world.

The Best Job in the World
“I consider it the best job in the world because I do what I love, which is dealing with dogs, and I still get paid for it.”
Additionally, the flexible schedule allows him to spend quality time with his wife and their five dogs:
Arizona, Alabama, Kira, Denver and Maggie.
When asked how he got started in this amazing field, “Uncle Deivid” revealed that his wife graduated in veterinary medicine in 2019.
Because of that, they decided to open a canine health and wellness center the following year.
Although he also had a company in the mechanical sector, Deivid fell in love with working with dogs and decided to focus entirely on that field.
“I loved working with dogs and realized that it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.”
That year, after his wife received a job offer abroad, they decided to sell their companies and move overseas.
However, they continue working in the pet care industry independently.
“She works as a behavioral vet, and I work as a trainer, pet sitter, dog walker…”
The couple plans to open a pet care company in Florida, United States, in the future.
For Deivid, the opportunity to unite passion and work makes each day rewarding.
