Audience Cheers as Stray Dog Invades Stage During Dance Festival—And Totally Owns It

The 5th Capela Dance Festival 2023 in São Paulo, Brazil, promised a lot of joy and music. However, an adorable surprise stole the show: Estrela, a black-coated mutt, charmed everyone with her unexpected participation.
The event organizer told Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news), how she reacted when she saw the dog’s participation.
With her shiny fur and eyes full of curiosity, Estrela got on stage and began to pull the curtain with her mouth, as if it were part of the plot of her performance.
The audience, loving the special guest, began to cheer: “Dog! Dog! Dog!”
The scene was captured by a spectator, who sent it to the event organizer, Suzana Urbano de Freitas.
She admitted that, at first, she was terrified by the situation, but soon the tension gave way to laughter.
“This repercussion was a surprise to me. At that moment, I thought it was funny that she wanted to tear off the curtain. I confess that I was tense, I was announcing the festival’s winners,” Suzana said.
After Estrela’s unusual participation, Suzana decided to share the video on TikTok. The post went viral and Estrela’s notoriety continued to grow.
With all the repercussions, Suzana sought to learn more about the dog’s story and discovered that Estrela has a habit of invading workshops, schools and events in search of fun.
“I gave her this name because she was truly born to shine. I looked for more information, and they said Estrela shows up at gym events and soccer matches, catches the ball, tries to be part of the activities, and interacts with everyone—kids and adults. She’s a jokester,” she explained.
Suzana, who already has a little dog at home called Mel, a caramel-colored mutt, cannot adopt Estrela permanently due to Mel’s quarrelsome personality.
That’s why she’s looking for a loving, forever home for this four-legged star.
“She’s in a temporary home—she can’t stay with me. I have a big, grumpy caramel dog who doesn’t accept other pets at all,” she explained.
