Rescued Street Dog Becomes Unrecognizable After Receiving Love

A while ago, a woman named Elza Angelica came across a heartbreaking scene: a little dog in terrible condition wandering the streets of Mato Grosso, Brazil.

Leaving her there was not an option. So, Elza did everything she could to rescue the shy little stray dog, and thanks to the love and care she gave her, the dog—named Betina—has been transformed.

A dog rescued from the streets goes through an amazing transformation.

In an interview with Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news), Elza said she wanted to share Betina’s transformation as encouragement to rescue abandoned animals.

Elza said that on a rainy day, while going to work, she saw a little dog walking in circles with great difficulty.

Later that same day, when passing by the same spot, she saw the little dog again—this time hiding in a hole, trying to escape the rain.

“I knew I needed to help her. I threw a blanket over her and put her in the car. I took her to a grooming salon and then for tests. The following day, I picked her up—she was anemic and had leishmaniasis. I brought her home with a list of medications. I thought she wouldn’t make it, but my little princess fought and survived,” she said.

During her recovery, Elza faced many difficulties with the dog. Because of everything she had been through on the streets, she was very traumatized.

“It took days for her to leave the room, and a few more weeks to leave the house. At any noise, she would run to her room and curl up. It took two months for us to go on our first walk. She’s still afraid of people on the street, but at home she’s a little terror.”

Betina takes medicine every day and seems to understand that she needs it.

According to Elza, “she knows it’s important, because it’s not a big deal for her to swallow a pill.”

“She doesn’t have her whole tail, just a nub. When I found her, she was bleeding. I don’t know if it was abuse or leishmaniasis, but she’s still beautiful.”

Thanks to Elza’s good heart, Betina got a new beginning, and her owner admires the dog’s will to live. Elza concludes by saying: “To me, she is so special for fighting for her life.”

Another Touching Rescue!

A dog with extremely dirty and matted fur, which at first glance looked like discarded pieces of old cloth, underwent a remarkable transformation after being rescued and treated. The dog’s name is Morris.

“When the man first found Morris, he was lying on the side of a bank near the canal. It appeared the poor animal was already dead. On closer inspection, he realized he was breathing, but his fur was so heavy and matted that he appeared unable to move and was clearly terrified,” said RSPCA animal rescue inspector Ryan King in a press release.

After his rescue, Morris underwent an impressive transformation, and today, he looks like a completely different dog.
