Recently, a 1.7-pound Pinscher named Madruguinha Vagabundo stole the show and went viral thanks to his owner, Anna Lee, who has a special way of waking him up.

In an interview with Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news), she explained how the inspiration for the song came about.

In a video posted on TikTok, Anna Lee, a resident of Brasília, Brazil, demonstrated her talent for getting little Madruguinha out of bed in style.

With a generous dose of humor and affection, Anna Lee approaches her Pinscher’s bed and says enthusiastically:

"Madruguinha Vagabundo, you bum, get up! Go hand out some résumés!" — The playful jab had netizens cracking up instantly.

Next, she surprised even more with her musical ability, singing a two-word hit song:

"Madruguinha Vagabundo, Madruguinha Vagabundo, Madruguinha Vagabundo," she repeats.

The cute and startled Pinscher, who seems to be used to this unique way of being woken up, excitedly jumps on the bed and has fun with his owner.

"Madruguinha Vagabundo" came about because I'm a fan of the Mexican series 'Chaves' and I like compound names; 'Vagabundo' (which means 'bum' in English) fit perfectly," she explained. "I thought it suited him perfectly, but I never imagined he would turn out to be a real bum!"

Anna Lee doesn’t hold back on the pampering when waking Madruguinha up. "I wake him up with lots of love for every jump, tail wag, and smile he makes," she says.

Still jokingly, Anna says that Madruguinha, despite his peculiar name, has dreams like any other dog.

"Madruguinha Vagabundo dreams of getting married and building a family, but being a bum and unemployed, unfortunately, this dream cannot come true. His family would die of hunger," she joked.

A King’s Life

Madruguinha is 1 year old and lives with Anna, his human sisters Anna Belly, Anna Beatriz, and Anna Julia, as well as his canine brothers Franjesvaldo, Lorenzo Popo, and Curtiça.

Oh, and let’s not forget his younger brother, Chico the one-year-old parrot, who is almost learning to sing Madruguinha’s song!

“He hasn’t learned yet, but he’ll definitely learn to say ‘Vagabundo’ and ‘unemployed,’” she said, laughing.

With her unique approach to waking up her beloved Madruguinha Vagabundo, Anna and her adorable Pinscher won hearts on the internet.

“I always wake up Madruguinha with a little song. I think it’s cute to wake him up like that, because he jumps and smiles.”
