A cat named Milk knows how to keep her family on their toes during Sunday lunch, just like any other pet — because this pretty girl found a way into her owner’s mom’s new piece of furniture and got stuck there. There was no other choice—the whole family had to come together to rescue her. Oh, Milk!

While everyone was distracted, chatting, the kitty snuck into the couch and ended up getting stuck in the lining underneath the furniture.

Someone tried to lift the upholstery, but the lining prevented them from getting her out. Another person had the idea to cut the fabric with a knife to help her. The situation caused laughter and a bit of a commotion.

This beauty lives with her family in Minas Gerais, Brazil. In an interview with Amo Meu Pet (our Brazilian website about pet news), 20-year-old Júlia Alves, Milk’s owner, said that Milk is a “bipolar” kitten because, while she loves to be held and receive affection, she suddenly starts running around like crazy and biting. “But she’s the darling of the house,” said the young woman.

“The whole couch situation was a nightmare at first, because we could hear her meowing but couldn’t find her anywhere. Then the rest of the family arrived for Sunday lunch, and everyone joined forces to lift and tear the couch apart, because she was stuck inside it — lol! Afterwards, we laughed about the whole situation.”

The chaos caused by Milk resulted in a hilarious video that, of course, went viral. Júlia says she didn’t expect such a big reaction, since she filmed it just to share in the family WhatsApp group and later posted it on her TikTok profile ( @alvesjuliawn).

The post has racked up over 64,000 views and thousands of reactions and comments.

“At my house, my mom tore off the upholstery the day the couch arrived because our cats kept getting stuck inside the old one and tearing everything up,” shared one TikToker.

“I had to tear up my couch because mine did the same thing,” added another.

“Mine goes straight in! But she made a hole, so she can get out,” said a third.

Now that’s what you call a chaotic Sunday lunch!

So, why do cats like to hide?

According to Purina’sblog, a pet food manufacturer, cats have a natural instinct to hide as a way to feel safe and secure. This behavior is rooted in their wild ancestors, who needed to hide to avoid predators.

Cats are naturally curious and love to explore hidden and unfamiliar places. Hiding helps them feel more secure and provides a quiet place to rest. It’s a normal part of feline behavior and a way for them to express emotional and instinctual needs.
